Perennial seeds are a blessing for a gardener who believes in saving time. Perennial seeds cut the worry of planting and replanting every year since the flowers bloom and rebloom every year.

When thinking of perennials, many may think of planting trees or shrubs, since they fall under the perennial category. Although bushes and trees can make a yard green and shady, there is hope for having some added colors. Perennials include Daylilies, Delphiniums, Peonies, and Irises. With these beautiful flowers in the garden, it is easy to have colorful yard that is worthy of Martha Stewart.

Plant care is made simple with the many varieties of perennial seeds. During the fall season the perennials loose their leaves and flowers, but their roots continue to live throughout the winter. Since the roots are able to survive during the winter months, the plant grows a new top every spring.

Plants and their perennial seeds are divided into two different categories: woody and herbaceous. Woody perennials consist of all plants that are made up of woody tissue, such as trees and bushes. Perennial seeds that form into non-woody plants are known as herbaceous and can be annual, biannual, or perennial. For example, one type of perennial seed can grow into a flower and live for three or four years, while another perennial seed can grow into a tree that lives for over a thousand years. In short, the lifespan of a perennial seed can vary.

When planting perennial seeds, it is best to know what type of environment the plant prefers. Some enjoy large amounts of exposure to sunlight, while others prefer the cool, dampness of the shade. Perennial seeds are usually better to buy for people who do not have a lot of patience for gardening, but want to have a pretty yard. The perennial seeds and flowers tend to be a little sturdier than the regular annual variety of flower.

Perennial seeds can be found in most local gardening stores, however, hunting down less common perennial seeds can be difficult. Specialty gardening shops and online sources usually provide less common perennial seeds, though they may take time to hunt down. Peonies can be a delightful flower to have, and are not very hard to find in a plant nursery. The bright pink blooms and yellow centers of the peonies are native to Asia and Western North America. These particular types of flower can come in the woody and herbaceous varieties.

Planting perennial seeds can have its pay offs. To some it can bring ease to the mind knowing that if cut and brought into the house, the pretty flowers will continue to grow in the years to come. The low maintenance flowers can flourish to provide a pleasant view year after year. With simple plant care,  there is no excuse not to have a wonderfully blooming garden this spring.
